Details about Danielle:

Danielle Viglione is a former professional basketball player, Hall of Famer, and nationally recognized player-development coach whose career has spanned elite high school, collegiate, WNBA, international professional, and coaching levels.

A Sacramento native, Viglione established herself as one of California’s most accomplished high school players at Del Campo High School, where she set 10 California state scoring records. During her senior season, she scored an extraordinary 1,300 points, breaking the previous California record held by basketball legend Sheryl Miller. She finished her high school career with 3,089 points and was named California Player of the Year twice.

Viglione continued her career at the University of Texas, where she became one of the program’s all-time greats. She finished as the school’s eighth all-time leading scorer, was named a GTE All-American three consecutive years, earned Big 12 Scholar-Athlete honors, scored a Texas single-game record 48 points, and established the school’s career three-point record with 293 made three-pointers.

Following her collegiate career, Viglione played professionally in the WNBA for the Sacramento Monarchs and spent nine seasons playing professionally overseas in Israel, Turkey, and Italy.

Her accomplishments have earned her recognition in multiple prestigious halls of fame. She was inducted into the CIF Hall of Fame in 2014, Sacramento Hall of Fame in 2015, and Texas Hall of Honor in 2019.

After her playing career, Viglione transitioned into elite player development and coaching. She has worked with high-level athletes through organizations and camps including Nike All Asia Camps, Hong Kong Sport 360, and Italy WBCA Camps. She also served as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2023 and became the organization’s Director of Player Development in 2024.

Today, Danielle serves as the Director of Sacramento Skills Academy, where she uses her decades of experience as a player and coach to help athletes develop their individual skills, basketball IQ, confidence, and overall understanding of the game.

What separates Danielle from many skill-development coaches is her firsthand experience at the highest levels of basketball. She has been a record-setting high school player, an All-American collegiate athlete, a WNBA player, an international professional, a professional coach, and now a mentor to the next generation of basketball players.

Her mission is simple: develop better basketball players while helping athletes reach their full potential on and off the court.
